We would like to invite you to the 1st World University Softball Championship to be held October 26-31, 2004 in Plant City, Florida (USA).
The championship will be jointly organized by the United States Collegiate Sports Council and the International Softball Federation. The competition will be organized in accordance with the most recent technical regulations of FISU and the International Softball Federation (ISF).
Eight countries will be participating in the event. They are: Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Guatemala, Japan, the Netherlands, and USA. There will be NO admission fee to Plant City Stadium for spectators -- just a $5.00 parking fee. For game times, see the schedule link below.
We would like to give you brief information on the championship and the venue. Links to the respective entry forms can be found below. All forms must be signed by the National University Sports Federation. In the event there is not a National Sports University Federation contact, then all forms can be signed by the ISF National Member.

SPORTS FACILITY
The International Softball Federation Headquarters located in Plant City, Florida, which is located in the southeast United States. The 16,000 square foot facility sits on 76 acres of land, which also includes Plant City Stadium and the Randy L. Larson Softball Fourplex. Plant City Stadium was built in 1987 and seats almost seven thousand.
ACCOMMODATIONS
All participants will be accommodated in double bed rooms at the Holiday Inn
Lakeland - South and local transportation to the venue will be provided. Meals will be provided at the hotel.
Umpires will be housed at the Holiday Inn Express Plant City and will receive a per diem for meals.
TRANSPORTATION
A shuttle bus will transport the participants from the airport (Tampa International Airport only) to the hotel.

Each country is authorized to enter a team (maximum 17 players) and five member delegates.

ELIGIBILITY REGULATIONS
Participants must
· be officially registered for and pursuing a full time course of study at a university or similar institute whose status as a university is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country, OR
· be former students of the institutions mentioned above, who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event,
· be a national of the country they represent,
· be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age on January 1st in the year of the event.
PARTICIPATION FEE
The participation fees have been fixed at $45USD per day, per person. Accommodations will be available from the lunch of October 25th to breakfast on November 1st. A deposit of 25% must be paid by May 26, 2004. The remaining 75% of the participation fees must be paid before the start of the championships, preferably by bank transfer, net of all bank charges.
FISU REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fees of $20 USD per competitor and official for FISU Member Association and $40 USD per competitor and official for FISU Non-member associations.
UMPIRES
Each country entering with one (1) team must include with their delegation and at their own cost one (1) ISF certified umpire.
VOLUNTEERS
