II SLOW PITCH WORLD CUP
This is a Co-Ed Adult Slow Pitch Softball Tournament

 

DATES:
October 8-10, 2005 (Saturday - Monday)
Tentative Schedule:
* October 7 - Technical Meeting (6 p.m.)
* October 8 - Pool Play begins (9 a.m.)
* October 8 - Opening Ceremony (time TBA)
* October 8-9 - Pool Play Games
* October 9-10 - Single Elimination Bracket Play

LOCATION:
ISF Headquarters & Plant City Stadium complex, Plant City, Florida (USA)

PARTICIPATING TEAMS
Expected to compete are the following:

Cayman Islands Great Britain II
Clan Softball Club (Scotland) Plant City (Florida, USA)
Grand Bahamas/Nassau (2 teams) Total Chaos II (Texas, USA)
Great Britain I Wild Rovers (Ireland)


TOURNAMENT INCLUDES:

* Minimum six-game guarantee
* Two umpires per game, three umpires in championship play
* Field prep after every other game
* Medical Staff on-site
* Opportunity to play at least one foreign team in pool play
* Team medals for 1st - 4th place

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
* Five games in pool play and one guaranteed game in single elimination bracket play
* Six teams per pool
* Opportunity to play at least one foreign team per pool
* All teams will advance into single elimination bracket play from pool play
* Teams will be seeded in bracket play based on pool play finish
(Depending on team participation)

POOL PLAY (Saturday, October 8th)
* Pool play will take place in Plant City (five fields)

BRACKET PLAY (Sunday & Monday)
* All bracket games will be played at the ISF Headquarters/Plant City Stadium complex
* The earliest a team can be eliminated from competition is Sunday, Oct. 9 (time TBD)
* The championship game for the Slow Pitch World Cup is Monday, Oct. 10 (time TBD)

TEAM SOLIDARITY
* Each team should bring a token of solidarity for gift exchange before every game against an opponent you will face for the first time (refer to pool and bracket play, when available, to estimate number of gifts to bring. These should be small gifts like pins, key chains, or another small item from your country, state, or team).

CO-ED SLOW PITCH RULES
* Ten players - five males, five females
* Two males and two females in both the infield and outfield
* One male and one female as pitcher or catcher

ENTRY FEE
* U.S. and Canadian teams: $200 USD Entry fee
* Foreign teams: $800 USD tournament deposit, which is credited toward first
night housing and $200 USD Entry fee
* Obtain entry form by request from worldcup@internationalsoftball.com

ROSTER INFORMATION
* U.S. teams must contact their local ASA commissioner for eligibility status and must have their rosters approved to be eligible. (Must send a signed copy of the ASA waiver/liability indemnity form.)
* Canadian teams must send their rosters to Softball Canada for approval prior to participation
* All foreign teams must have roster approved by their National Federation
* Official ISF Roster Form for international teams available here.
