STAY INFORMED IN 2009
2009-01-23
To
say that 2009 will be a busy year for international softball is almost an understatement.
While the biggest news will come from the quest to get the sport back into the Olympic Games for 2016, a great number of competitions will take place throughout the year as well. One need look no further than the Calendar portion of the Events section of this website to see the great number of tournaments scheduled around the world in 2009.
A similar list is printed on the Table of Contents page in the International Softball Federation’s official publication, World Softball magazine. The January-April 2009 issue is available for purchase online. As depicted on its cover (shown above), this edition has feature stories on softball in Africa and the Middle East helping to further some of the goals of the Olympic reinstatement campaign. Furthermore, an article immediately following that pair updates the reader on BackSoftball, followed by a preview of this year’s ISF XII Men’s World Championship, a column from ISF Director of Umpires Bob Stanton, and more! In full color throughout, the magazine is printed in English and Spanish, and there’s even a two-page center spread in French that summarizes the contents of this issue.
But news happens regularly in a global sport such as softball, so you’ll be sure to want to stay up on the latest developments by going to the right places online.
Here on internationalsoftball.com we’ve already uploaded the first two newsletters of the year that have been published. There’s also a press release online that was just sent to the media two days ago. Then there’s also our Olympic reinstatement campaign website, www.BackSoftball.com, where already in 2009 we’ve uploaded more photos to the “Follow BackSoftball around the globe” portion of the Multimedia Gallery and, in the Other Documents section, posted two press releases that have been issued so far in January about the campaign.
Stay in touch with the world of softball, in print and online. Another notable year is in store for this great sport!
